With a view to strengthen and reorganise the party setup, after the merger of area Congress committee Aboi with the Naga Peoples’ Front, the NPF 47th A/C Aboi held a consultative meet on June 14 at Aboi town council hall.
According to the press release, the party workers discussed issue related to party unity and matters to unite and work for the upliftment of the party under the leadership of NPF president, Shurhozelie and CM, T. R Zeliang. Addressing the party workers, parliamentary secretary Art and Culture, Eshak Konyak urged them to stand united and to fulfill the wishes and aspiration of the common men in all spheres. He also appealed the party workers to cling firm and steadfast in order to succeed in party’s attempt to develop and build a shared interest among the people of the constituency and beyond. The release further stated that the meeting unanimously elected new team of office bearers, led by Yongwem as president, CS Nyiem as working president and Ponge as the general secretary.
The meeting was attended by hundreds of party workers, representatives from Mon divisional unit, host of senior party leaders, village and ward units of Aboi A/C.
