ATMA conduct various activities across the state

In Phek and Pfutsero block the Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) comprising of two officials conducted training, demonstration  and capacity building for farmers ATMA, Pfutsero block ,Phek District, on May 24,  at Lekromi  village.
Resource person of the training programme, AHO & BTT convener, Pfutsero block Elias Ezung, trained the farmers how Half Moon terrace cultivation can be implied in hilly areas for better crop yield ,soil and water conservation.
He also demonstrated the step by step procedure on mushroom cultivation highlighting their high yield, fast growing crop which has an exotic flavor, nutritional and medicinal values.
Altogether 17 farmers participated at the programme.
ATMA Dmu Dhansaripar block: One day ‘Kisan Goshti- Application of Agri Lime’ (KG-AAL) was conducted by Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Dhansiripar block on May 31, at Zutovi Village with AO & BTT convener, Dhansiripar block Ronchamo Kikon, as resource person. 
During the programme, resource person explained about the importance of agricultural lime and demonstrated step by step procedure for application of lime. 
The programme was chaired by ATM, Dhansiripar block Jess T. Murry, ATM, and vote of thanks was delivered by ATM, Dhansiripar block Meciesunu Sakhrie. 
Agri Lime was also distributed during the training. Meanwhile, demonstration on “Value addition on horticultural crops” was conducted at Shoxuvi village with ATM, Medziphema block Zevosano as resource person. 
Zevosano demonstrated about step by step procedure on how to make value added products of horticultural crops (tomato sauce and chilli pickle).
ATMA Longleng: Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) ATMA Longleng, Tamlu Block conducted demonstration on May 10, at Yongshei Village.
The programme was chaired by Chubanaro Jamir BTM, Tamlu Block. 
Resource person, SMS (plant protection), KVK Longleng E.LireniKikon, conducted demonstration on “cultivation and disease management of large cardamom”, “Uses and application of Neem oil and Biopesticides-trichoderma”.
Lireni demonstrated step by step procedure on cultivation of large cardamom beginning with the preparation of nursery seed bed. She illustrated on the importance of careful procurement of good quality seeds and suckers. 
Meanwhile, resource person SMS (Animal Husbandry), KVK Longleng Dr Lily, demonstrated on the “Care and Management of piggery farming”. 
She highlighted on poultry feeds, health management and control of diseases. Altogether 8 farmers participated at the programme.
ATMA Tseminyu block: Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA)  
Tseminyu block conducted demonstration programme on mushroom cultivation and piggery farming on May 30, at Henbenji village. 
At the training programme, ATMA Tseminyu block, ATM Rokokhoto Natso demonstrated on mushroom cultivation and ATMA Tseminyu block, BTM Dr. Vibeilie J. Keretsu demonstrated on piggery farming. 
Altogether 23 farmers attended the programme where mushroom spawns, vitamins and mineral mixtures and anthelmintic drugs (deworming) were distributed among them.
ATMA Wka & Tseminyu: ATMA Wokha, in collaboration with BTT Tseminyu, organised a farmer-to-farmer technology dissemination program between farmers of Wokha and Tseminyu block on June 8 at town hall Tseminyu.
Speaking at the function, PD Wokha, Dr.Mhonchan Shitiri, informed that the program was organized to create a platform for farmers of the two districts to exchange knowledge, ITKs, and agricultural practices so as to enhance production and productivity.
In his short speech, SDAO and BTT, convenor, Viwehoto Thorie said that such “meet” between farmers of two districts was a first of its kind in the block which would help the farmers. 
Block activities of ATMA Tseminyu and Wokha were presented by BTM, Dr.Vibeilie Keretsu, and DPD Yanglen respectively.
Further, on realizing the similarities of crops grown in Tseminyu and Wokha which offers scope for seed exchange, the farmers decided to organize similar programs even at individual farmer’s level in future. Earlier the program was chaired by BTM, Dr.Vibelie, and vote of thanks was pronounced by agriculture officer, G.Kent. 
ATMA Jalukie town: ATMA Jalukie block conducted one-day training on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) on June 7 at town hall Jalukie in collaboration with the directorate of Plant Protection Quarantine and Storage (PPQ&S), CIPMC Dimapur where 20 selected progressive farmers from Jalukie block were benefitted. 
Training and demonstration was imparted by scientific assistant from PPQ & S CIPM DImapur, Kiachang, while BTT convenor & AHO Peren, Dileu Nsa also stressed on achieving high production.

ATMA Meluri training on NFSM-rice: ATMA Meluri conducted one-day farmers training on NFSM-rice on June 8 at SDAO’s office Meluri town, chaired by Agriculture Officer (AO) Phrumasie.  Keynote address was given by SDAO, Burwati Longkumer where he encouraged the farmers on sticking to organic farming and he also apprised the farmers on how to select good seeds. Concept and packages of practices of SRI was given by BTM Meluri Block Ekonthung Odyuo and vote of thanks by AFA Shri. Siethopa. Altogether 28 Farmers attended the training.
ATMA Wazebo block: Training on SRI and demonstration on mushroom cultivation, chilli pickle making, air layering was conducted on June 9 at Wazeho village under ATMA Wazeho block, Phek district with BTM Meluri block Ekonthung and ATM Meluri block as resource persons. They apprised the farmers on SRI and the advantages of SRI and the farmers to do organic farming. Chilli pickling and cultivation of mushroom was taught to the farmers. The programme was chaired by VCC Wazeho, Z. Yitichu. Altogether 28 farmers attended the training cum demonstration.
ATMA Meluri block, Phek: ATMA Meluri block Phek conducted demonstration on mushroom cultivation, insect pest management of flowers and air layering at Meluri village on June 7 with BTT convener and Agriculture Officer (AO) Phrumasie and Block Technology Manager (BTM) Meluri block Ekonthung as resource persons. The farmers were trained on the various steps on production of oyster mushroom, its importance and health benefits. Various slide shows on mushroom were shown to the farmers. Demonstration on air layering and steps to air layering was demonstrated to the farmers. Mushroom spawn, bio pesticides were distributed to the farmers. The programme was attended by 26 farmers.
