DIPR notifies on publication of VIPs photo

Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) has notified that the Supreme Court, has added some changes in review of its earlier judgement with regards to publication of VIPs photos
According to DIPR report, the exception in the earlier judgment dated May 13, 2015 permitting the publication of the photographs of the president, prime minister and chief justice of the country, subject to the said authorities themselves deciding the question, was now extended to governors and chief ministers of the states.
In lieu of the photograph of the prime minister, the photograph of the departmental (Cabinet) minister/ minister in-charge of the concerned ministry may be published, if so desired.
In the states, similarly, photograph of the departmental (Cabinet) minister/ minister in-charge in lieu of the photograph of the chief minister may be published, if so desired.
All other observations/directions in the aforesaid judgment dated May 13,2015 shall continue to remain in force subject to the above modification.
In this regard, all concerned have been directed to adhere / comply to the guidelines with immediate effect. The notification was issued in supersession DIPR’s August 27, 2015 notification.
