Anti-extortion team, Zone-II of Dimapur police apprehended three active members of National People Government of Nagaland (NPGN)/NNC (N/A) and seized arms and ammunitions from their possession at Padum Pukhuri junction, Dimapur at around 6 pm, Thursday.
According to OC East Police station, I. Makendo Odyuo, .32 pistol with seven live rounds, 22 pistol and two live rounds and magazine of 9mm was seized from them. OC also said that five leaflet of NPGN, 32 number of extortion slips, two seals of “cabinet kiloners-cum-CAO UT-1”was recovered from them.
The three have been identified as Tokaho Chophy (31) “ss secy UT-1”, Simon Aye (20) “ss lieut” and Abel Swu (30) “ss lieut” of NPGN/NNC (N/A).
Makendo told media persons that police has been tracked the three for a long time after they received compliant of the three harassing business community and public of Dimapur very often.
They were arrested while travelling in a maruti wagnor, OC said.
