Wokha Unit of All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) has appealed to the deputy commissioner/district election officer and SP Wokha for early release of payments to taxis used for official duties during the recent NLA elections 2018.
A press release from ANTA Wokha unit general secretary, Lipenthung Ovung stated that this decision was adopted at the ANTA Wokha unit general meeting on April 14 at ANTA Wokha office, during which the unit adopted several resolutions aimed mainly at improving its services and smooth functioning of the association.
ANTA said that in order to ensure smooth traffic, the unit had resolved to remove, within a specific time, all off-road vehicles, construction materials, timbers, workshops, fabrication shop etc. occupying public roads and the NH within Wokha Town area.
The unit has also informed its members to renew their membership/association driving ID etc on or before May 31, 2018.
Among other things, the house also decided to not allow unregistered/unauthorised taxis, except zonal taxis, to ply within its jurisdiction.Use of intoxicants and gambling within the taxi counter premises would invite fines and penalties, the unit warned.
