Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel convened a meeting of all HoDs, administrative officers, GBs, ward chairmen, DMC, civil societies and public leaders of Dimapur district in the conference hall of DC Dimapur on April 19.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting discussed matters pertaining to the proposed state wide mass social work fixed on April 21, as per a cabinet decision.
Sushil Kumar Patel, who chaired the meeting said that the social work would commence at 7 a.m sharp in all the 23 wards. He instructed the HoDs to ensure that all the employees starting from grade IV under their respective departments participated in the social work compulsorily and also to maintain strict attendance.
Patel also directed the GB union and ward chairmen to initiate and mobilise all the residents in their respective wards to participate in the social work. He said that the main objective of the social work would be clearing drainages before the onset of the monsoons and advised them to bring work tools accordingly.
Patel also directed the DMC to take the responsibility of collecting garbage from all the wards. Sushil said that the district administration would strictly monitor and inspect all the wards during the social work.
In the meeting, a representative from Jain Samaj said that, on the proposed day, the Jain and Marwari communities would be cleaning Jain Temple Colony covering a stretch of approximately 1 km using their own machineries.
