Drawing attention to the open resignation letter of former chairman of BJP’s PAC Dr. Kakheto Zhimomi, published in the local dailies, the BJP Nagaland unit has expressed regret that a former member had “surprisingly not fully grasped the norms and practices of the party.” In a press release, BJP unit media general secretary Jaangsillung Gonmei stated that the shortcomings in such instances were due to the fact that most people have a conventional perception of what a political party should be and failed to note the “unique differences of functioning in each party.” In rectification of “certain aspects” of the resignation letter, the BJP unit has sought to clarify on the shortcomings noticed.
