District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kiphire organized a day-long legal awareness seminar at Longmatra town on March 29.
Resource persons during the seminar were chairman, DLSA G. H. Ramlia, panel lawyers Nokshei Kano and Hotingkyu.
Ramlia who spoke on the importance of DLSA, urged the congregation to avail free legal access for the marginalized section of society.
He said every citizen was equal before law and should have equal respect, irrespective of religion, gender and likewise. Nokshei Kano and Hotingkyu spoke on village council act and the right to information act respectively. EAC Longmatra, C. Wangan also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, the program chaired by PLV Daniel Secopi began with an invocation by Dekehpila. Hundreds of delegates from Longmatra area villages and Longmatra town DBs, GBs, NGOs and Church leaders attended the programme.
