VK area bodies to impose indefinite NH-2 bandh

VK Range Students Union (VKRSU); Kükami/GBs Association VK Area (VKAGBA); Urban Committee (UC); VK area/range frontal organisations; VK Town Students’ Union (VKTSU) and elders have unanimously decided to impose “indefinite bandh” along NH-2 from April 1, 2016. The decision was made during a joint emergency meeting of the VK area organizations Monday evening.
On March 6, a joint meeting of various frontal organizations deliberated on the absence of the doctor (MO) at PHC VK town and subsequently, the house decided to impose “highway bandh” starting from March 11. However, after the H&FW department assured to look into the matter, the proposed bandh was kept in abeyance till March 31 as the deadline. In this connection, the organizations in a joint press note lamented saying, “we patiently anticipated and hoped for positive response, but the government had failed to provide a doctor for which the bandh has been declared as decided earlier”.
They said it was the birthright of VK area citizens to get equal treatment like all other Nagas and not lip service only. Meanwhile, VKRSU has informed its unit presidents and general secretaries to report to its office Hq VK Town.
