In a noble gesture, 28 Assam Rifles (AR) under the aegis of 5 Sector AR visited the Morning Star Children’s Home at NST Colony, Wokha town and presented gifts and lunch to the children on the eve of Easter Sunday.
On the occasion, 28 AR commandant Col Litton Dhar appreciated and thanked the proprietor and superintendant of the children’s home Evung Ezung for his exceptional and unparalleled contribution to society. He also promised that 28 AR and IGAR (N) would continue to be a part of such a noble cause in the true spirit of “Friends of the North East People”.
On behalf of 28 AR, Lotha Eloe Hoho president Mhonchumi Humtsoe and general secretary Mhabeni Shitiri distributed gifts to all the children.
Lunch was also organized for the children, which was served by the commandant and his lady wife Sudeshna Dhar. All officers, JCOs and ladies also joined the children for lunch.
Besides expressing gratitude to the 28 AR for their kind gesture and generosity, the proprietor of the children’s home as well as locals, who attended the programme appreciated AR’s efforts and said they would pray for the well-being and happiness of all rank and file of AR.
