Seven students were conferred B.Th Diploma at the 69th graduation day of Witter Theological College (WTC) held on March 21 at Longjung Baptist Church, Vankhosung, Wokha, under the theme ‘Mount up to make a difference’ (Isaiah 40: 31).
Academic dean Talinungsang presented the graduates for conferring. The diplomas and certificates were conferred by WTC principal Dr. Moanunsang and WTC board member Rev. Dr. Ezamo Murry, who also pronounced the dedicatory prayer. Proficiency and other awards were given away by LBES executive secretary Rev. M. C. Kithan.
Best graduate award was bagged by Binyemjong Chang while proficiency and scripture knowledge awards were bagged by N. Shanchobeni Odyuo and Adeno Y. Odyuo respectively.
KLBC associate pastor Mhonchumo, the guest speaker for the occasion, challenged the graduating students to emphasis on practical aspect of ministry in making a difference in people’s lives, the church and the society.
The 69th graduation day also saw the phasing out of the Bachelor of Theology (B. Th.) Programme which was being offered by the college. The college will continue to offer Bachelor of Divinity (BD) program which it had started in the year 2013 when it got provisional affiliation to the Senate of Serampore College/University.
Those who took initiative in the program included Rev. Dr. P.P. Joy, Toshirenla Imchen, Tumben Odyuo, Dhane Zhemai, Ethel Yanthan and Liam Mizo (all assistant professors of WTC).
