SETAN seeks redressal of its demands

Seeking state government’s immediate intervention for redressal of its genuine demands, the Special Education Teachers Association of Nagaland (SETAN) has cautioned that if the government failed to meet the demands it would go for any measures however extreme the association deemed fit.
Special education teachers (SETs) were appointed under the MHRD scheme of Inclusive Education of the Disabled at Secondary Stage (IEDSS) to deal with the Children with Special Needs (CwSN) with state education department as the implementing agency.
In a press release, SETAN president Sanen stated that the state government take “immediate necessary action” to send SETs for requisite training. It also appealed to the government for immediate release of salary and extension of service of SETs at the earliest. As highlighted earlier in its representations, the association reminded the department not to make any fresh appointment until all the genuine in-service SETs were absorbed and trained.
