NTC welcomes gov’s call for probe in DoSE

A day after the state governor P.B. Acharya urged the chief minister and education minister to initiate thorough investigation over the reported failure and scams in the department of school education (DoSE), the Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has welcomed the governor’s call for a probe and said taking notice of the plight of teachers and the suffering school children and initiating steps to address the long felt grievances was laudable.
In a press release, media cell NTC alleged that like many other departments, education department was one infested with series of mismanagements to the extent of siphoning salaries of its employees.
NTC also stated that education department more for wrong reasons used to be in the local news more often than not due to non-release of teachers’ salary, for not providing requisite teaching staff to government schools, misappropriation of midday meals etcetera.
Stating that it did not mean that corruption in other departments was tolerable, NTC said yet such degree of mismanagements in human resource department such as education has serious impact on the wellbeing of the children. “The education department may not be realizing how such scams can ruin the career of lakhs of our children which is a matter of serious concern for all,” NTC stated.
In support to the governor, the NTC has urged the responsible authority to immediately start making a beginning in cleansing the systems, which, it said, have been in shambles for years.
