Yimchunger region, NNC(Non-Accordist) under the leadership of Kiumukam Yimchunger and Hangping Zeliang has observed its 61st anniversary of the first Naga war for Naga Independence against the Indian force.
NNC (N/A) MIP, stated that the region chairman Thrananba Yimchunger called upon the Nagas to stand united against the enemy. It stated that Thrananba recalled the first battle on March 24, 1955 where the Nagas had fought bravely against the Indian force at Huker village in Yimchunger region. Thereafter the Indian army started waging war against the Nagas, stated the release. It also stated that a minute of silence was observed as mark of respect to the brave Naga men and women who had died in defence of the Naga nation during this battle.
