Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), within a span of 15 months, has completed 103 projects under its jurisdiction in Dimapur. DMC has been undertaking various projects like drainage clearance, construction of culverts and dustbins in a phase-wise manner.
With the inauguration of the newly repaired Kevijau colony approach road on Thursday, DMC has also completed repairing 14 major roads in Dimapur.
Speaking at the inaugural programme as the chief guest, advisor Urban Development, Imti Sungit Jamir lauded the effort of the municipal council for bringing development in its jurisdiction.
Development would come only if the people showed concern, said Jamir and called upon the people to be united and co-operate among themselves.
While urging the people not to depend about everything on the government but also to contribute themselves, he lauded the colony members for raising Rs.3 lakh and donating it to DMC.
Earlier, DMC administrator Atokhe Aye while highlighting some of the developmental works carried out by DMC said that the municipal council is open to constructive criticisms from the people.
He also called on the people to co-operate with the municipal body in order to bring more developmental activities in the future.
The total area of the road constructed was 615.3×3.6=2215 sqm.
A shorts speech was also delivered by GB, Wapang. The programme was chaired by chairman Kevijau, Er. M Tia Jamir colony, God’s blessing was invoked by Rev. Johnson while the vote of thanks was proposed by Er. Nizal Tepa, secretary Kevijau colony.
