Nagaland Police SMS based Vehicle Monitoring System (NPSVMS) was adjudged as the ‘Most Innovative Application’ in the category of eGovernance and Service Delivery at the Digital North East Summit 2016 held in Shillong on Friday. NPSVMS was chosen from amongst the 11 finalists while Meghalaya State Agriculture Marketing Portal won the special mention from the category. The function was held at the North East Council auditorium.
The application was developed by Ben Imchen of Elysium Enterprise and was introduced in April 2015. This has helped in substantial reduction in the theft of four wheelers across the state.
As per police, 91 vehicles have been recovered so far using the application.
