Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) held its dedication cum executive meeting on March 15 with two sessions.
A press release by NGBF I&P secretary, Akhu Naga stated that during the second session the house passed resolutions for the welfare of the NGBF. It resolved that NGBF as a fatherly figure would strive for peace and unity among the Naga brothers and to achieve the goal, while also appreciating CM, T. R. Zelaing and apex organizations for relentless efforts in appealing for the same.
It also resolved to appeal the concerned tribal Hohos and local apex organizations to initiate and defuse the tense situation in view of local forces within Nagaland.
NGBF also resolved to continue the demand with new revived system in the case of Corpus Fund while the red blanket entitled by the GBs to be taken once in 5 (Five) years with good quality and the rest to be deposited in the Corpus Fund account to enhance more benefits to the GBs in the future.
During the first session chaired by NGBF vice president, Kakihe Yeptho the invocation was pronounced by Rev. Dr. Weyite Lohe and presidential address was delivered by Sahlem Konyak. The commissioning of the new office bearers was done by principal, OTS, Rev. Dr. Wati Aier and vote of thanks by NGBF general secretary, Shikuto Zalipu.
The second session was presided by NGBF president, Shalem Konyak and recorder was general secretary Shikuto Zalipu while exhortation speeches were delivered by founder of NGBF, T. L. Angami and former president NGBF, Vikuto.
Meanwhile Dimapur District GB Association (DDGBA) executive meeting was held on March 19, presided over by DDGBA president Tokuho Suhoi Nehoand recorded by general secretary Kenith Tsopoe. DDGBA passed four resolutions during the meeting.
A press release by DDGBA I&P secretary, Akhu Gangmei stated that the house expressed gratitude to parliamentary secretary, Irrigation & Flood Control and chairman DPB, N. Jacob Zhimomi for assisting the federation financially.
DDGBA resolved to support Nagaland GB Federation resolutions adopted on March 15. It also resolved to support the three points resolutions adopted by UNTABA in regard to border issue and to cooperate and participated as and when required.
DDGBA also expressed gratitude to the Dimapur GBU (Sadar) for allowing their office to hold meeting and further resolved that DDGBA would have office hour on the first and third Saturday of every month from 10 a.m to 2 p.m.
