ULFA (I) refutes statement

Reacting to the press release issued by IGAR (N) and published in the local, regional and section of the national dailies on January 26, with regard to the some northeast insurgents involved in narco-terrorism, ULFA (I) has expressed dismay that their organization was named as being involved in the “cultivation and trade of opium in Kachin province of Myanmar”.
In a statement, ULFA (I) assistant information & publicity secretary, ‘capt.’ Arunudoy Asom has “objected” and refuted the statement. It further accused AR of using the media to malign the organization. Asom also alleged that claim was nothing but a “piece of propaganda”. It may be mentioned that the IGAR(N) statement was published in the local dailies as well as the regional and section of the national dailies.
