Dimapur District Pensioners’ Association (DDPA) has appealed state government for early release of arrears for pre-2006 pensioners.
In a press statement DDPA president, I. Meren Longchar claimed that Government of India had issued office memorandum pertaining to revision of pension/family pension vide government of India, Ministry of Personnel P.G department of pension and PW/A/(PT) dated March 5, 2015.
Therefore, Dimapur District Pensioners’ Association has reminded the state government to implement the above notification and provide relief to the poor pensioners who were facing economic hardship.
Dimapur District Pensioners’ Association said that the since arrears came from their hard earned money it deserved due attention from the state government.
While urging for early release of long pending dues which may also entail 18 percent rate of interest per annum as per supreme court ruling 1987 (S) SLR S. C 288 O.P Gupata versus UOI, the Dimapur District Pensioners’ Association has warned the state government that failure to release the arrears early would compelled the association seek other machineries of the state/central government to redress their grievances.
