Tangha Village Council has vehemently condemned the brutal killing of chairman of Amosen village council, late T. Lungham on March 5 by one M. Chonglang.
A condemnation note by TVC chairman C. Hendok Phom and secretary, P. Longjah Phom stated that during its general meeting held on March 7 at Tangha village, TVC has unanimously resolved to expel the accused, M. Chonglang from Tangha citizenship with immediate effect.
It also declared that, even in the eventuality of M. Chonglang’s death, his mortal remains would not be allowed within Tangha village. The council stated that, the accused though mentally unsound, had never exhibited any extreme behaviour to the extent of harming others in the past.
TVC stated that on that fateful night the victim came out straight from his room and shot late T. Lungham while he was having a discussion with the elder brother of the accused.
While condemning the heinous crime, TVC has conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
