Deputy Commissioner (DC) Tuensang, Alem Jongshi has informed that government of Nagaland has introduced a new format for issue of indigenous inhabitant and scheduled tribe certificates which were being implemented with immediate effect by the office.
The DC informed that the new format has been introduced by the government to check even more stringently ineligible persons trying to obtain the certificates which were meant only for the indigenous inhabitants of Nagaland.
The release stated that with the introduction of the new format, the process of issuing the indigenous inhabitant and scheduled tribe certificate was expected to take longer than it did with the old format as more areas of verification have been introduced.
It further informed that in the past that applicants applied for the certificates only at the last moment and has therefore pointed out that anybody wishing to obtain indigenous inhabitant and scheduled tribe certificates from the office of Deputy Commissioner Tuensang have been requested to apply well in advance.
The public has further been requested to cooperate with this new initiative of the government which was done in the interest of the indigenous inhabitants of Nagaland.
