Dimapur Ao Youth Organization (DAYO) has strongly condemned the intimidating harassment meted out to the staff of Walisa Joylong Guest House, United Colony, Half Nagarjan Dimapur on March 9 by miscreants when the proprietor was not in station.
A press release by DAYO president, K. Longri Imchen and general secretary, Meyatoba stated that as per report miscreants had collected Rs. 1000 from the manager in the name of “town command” and again the same persons came back later to demand for Rs. 5000. It also stated that the miscreants had threatened dire consequences to the staff of the guest house.
DAYO stated that due to timely intervention of police the miscreants were caught, although one managed to flee.
Appreciating the prompt action of the law enforcing agency, DAYO has further urged that the absconding person be brought to justice. It has also urged all right thinking citizen to voice out against “illegal taxation” in the society.
