Office of the superintendent of police (SP), Kohima has notified that in view of the 11th session of the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly from March 15-19, 2016, the traffic regulation would be enforced as part of the security arrangement. In a press release, Sr. SP Kohima said only vehicles with appropriate car passes would be allowed entry to the assembly secretariat.
Police stated that no vehicle would be allowed to be parked by the roadside from 6 a.m. onwards from March 15-19 in the following routes: from BSNL Telephone Exchange till Classic Island; from Raj Bhavan till M.S Classic Island and from Classic Island till Assembly Secretariat via Razhü Point.
It said heavy vehicles would not be allowed to ply from High School junction to Assembly Secretariat via Sanuoru subway during Assembly Session except government departmental buses. Heavy vehicles would also not be allowed to be parked along the “D” Block road and would not be allowed to ply in Kohima town during Assembly session from 7 a.m. till the session is over. Police informed that all loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 7 a.m. during Assembly Sessions. While seeking cooperation from the public, police warned that defaulting vehicles would be towed away and the charges would be borne by the vehicle owners.
