Forest department distributes solar lamps in Kiphire

Department of forest distributed solar lamps to three newly recognized villages namely Nutsu village, Lihtsaoung village and Ditanvong village on March 10 under the initiative of Forest Range Officer Kiphire, Tuensang Division.
Forest Range Officer (FRO) Kiphire, Tsangli Tikhir said the effort of promotion of use of renewable solar energy was made possible because of the generous contribution by Mumbai-based NGO, Eco-Solutions, founded by Yatendra Agarewal.
He also added that solar lamps would greatly alleviate the misery of un-electrified villages like Nutsu, Lihtsaoung and Ditanvong which would reduce the use of candle and kerosene.  Meanwhile, the three village Councils and the general public have expressed their immense gratitude to the Mumbai-based NGO, Eco- solutions for their charitable work and also to Dr. Sentitula, IFS, DFO and Tsangli Tikhir, FRO, for taking the initiative of solar lamp distribution.
