Organisations, political parties and individuals across Nagaland have expressed deep pain at the demise of veteran politician PA Sangma on February 4 at New Delhi.
NCP Nagaland: Nagaland state unit of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) expressed its profound sorrow and grief at the sudden passing away of the former chief minister of Meghalaya, union minister, speaker of Lok Sabha and founding member of NCP Purno Agitok Sangma.
In a condolence message, NCP Nagaland unit described late Sangma as a shrewd politician, a great orator and statesman, a lawyer and journalist as well with exemplary qualities. It said he lived a very simple and humble life despite the fact that he was a highly learned man with extra ordinary calibre.
NCP Nagaland unit said in his death, the north east region has been made a “poorer place” in the political arena and added that the vacuum caused by his death shall be difficult to fill for all times to come.
Further, the unit has conveyed its deepest condolences to all the near and dear ones of the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty God may grant them the strength and solace to overcome this irreparable loss. It has also prayed for departed soul of great leader torest in eternal peace.
W. Wangyuh Konyak: Former MP (LS), W. Wangyuh Konyak has expressed shock at the demise of late Purno Agitok Sangma.
In a condolence message, Konyak stated that he had known late Sangma since 1996 and that late Sangma had advised and guided the young members of the north-east parliamentary forum as he was the senior most member from the forum having been elected to LS for nine terms.
Konyak said demise of late Sangma has created a vacuum in the political from and has conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed or the departed soul to rest in peace.
NGTC and NGMA: Nagaland Garo Tribal Council (NGTC) and Nagaland Garo Mothers Association (NGMA) have expressed shock and pain at the demise of former LS speaker, PA Sangma.
In a condolence message the associations described late Sangma as one who had possessed sterling quality of head and heart and active, cheerful, visionary leader who always held concern for the poor and downtrodden.
The condolence message stated that late Sangma always emphasized on unity and preservation of culture and tradition and his demise has left a vacuum.
Further, NGTC and NGMA have expressed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soulto rest in peace.
AIFFSO: All India Freedom Fighter Successor’s Organization (AIFFSO) Nagaland unit has expressed shock and sadness at the demise of late P A Sangma.
AIFFSO Nagaland while saluting the departed leader described him as a fighter who had fought in championship the cause of much democratic freedom movement within north east region. It stated that late Sangma’s demise has created a void which would be difficult to fill.
Further, AIFFSO has also conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and the citizens of Meghalaya and prayed that almighty god would grant eternal rest to the departed soul.
NEDF Nagaland Chapter: North East Dialogue Forum (NEDF) Nagaland Chapter has expressed deep shock at the untimely and sudden demise of late P.A. Sangma.
Further, NEDF Nagaland Chapter has conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
DPON: Dimasa Public Organisation of Nagaland (DPON) has expressed shock at the sudden demise of late PA Sangma.
In a condolence message, DPON said late Sangma had been a great leader in the nation and for the north east tribal peoples and Garo community in particular. It stated that his death was a great loss to the north east people who was represented to the central.
Further, DPON has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
