10 Lotha organizations seek clarification from NSCN (I-M)

Ten Lotha organizations have sought clarification from NSCN (I-M) on the 15-day ultimatum they have submitted to NSCN (I-M) kilo kilonser on February 27, on the purported press statement of secretary ministry of internal security NSCN (I-M), Daniel Ezung, published in the “Imphal Free Press”, on February 15, 2016.
In a press statement, on behalf of the ten organizations, Lotha Hoho (LH) chairman, Mhao Humtsoe and general secretary, Er. Mhondamo Ovung said the organizations warned NSCN (I-M) that failing to respond within 15 days from the date of receipt of their letter (February 27), it would resort its own course of action.
The organizations comprised of- Lotha Hoho, Lotha Students’ Union, Lotha Youth Hoho, Lotha Eloe Hoho, Village Councils Chairmen Association, Wokha District Chamber of Commerce and Industries, ACAUT Wokha Unit, Team Metamorphosis, Kohima Lotha Hoho and Dimapur Lotha Hoho.
LH said that the secretary in the press release, had warned Lotha Hoho, which had filed the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on the Rules & Regulations of the Nagaland state government on Petroleum & Natural Gas and disclosed that NSCN (I-M) had identified 25 Lotha intellectuals as “trouble makers and will shortly take action against them”.
LH claimed that Daniel made the statement at the LLRPO meeting at Bhandari on February 13, 2016, which had also been confirmed by Lotha organisations, through persons who attended the meeting.
In this regard, LH said Lotha organisations, on behalf of the Lotha people, had met the Kilo Kilonser on February 27 and submitted the ultimatum to the Kilonser.
At the meeting, Lotha Hoho said that the Lotha organisations demanded a written clarification from kilo kilonser the detailed list of the alleged 25 Lotha “intellectual trouble makers” and the reason(s), as to why the NSCN (I-M) have made these Lotha intellectuals as trouble makers.
To this, the kilo kilonser had apprised the Lotha representatives that he had no knowledge of such an “action plan” of the NSCN (I-M) set up, LH said.
When the Lotha representatives queried as to how a Imphal- based media had published the press release of Daniel Ezung, the Kilo Kilonser replied that some media people, who were against the outfit could have given the press releases antagonistic to the outfit.
However, he assured to the representatives not to worry since the outfit had no such intention and they he will initiate thorough enquiry on the matter and take appropriate action, KH said.
It also warned that if any untoward misadventure happens to any Lotha individual, the NSCN (I-M) would be held responsible.
The organizations sought support and cooperation of all right-thinking individuals and organizations in the Lotha people’s stand for justice and future well being of Nagas posterity.
