Notification on RS poll

Biennial election to Rajya Sabha seat in Nagaland, which fell vacant due to the death of sitting member, would be held on March 21, 2016. A DIPR report quoting a communiqué from the election department stated that issue of notifications would be done on March 4, 2016; last date of making nominations on March 11, 2016; scrutiny of nominations on March 12, 2016; last date for withdrawal of candidatures on March 14, 2016; date of poll on March 21, 2016 (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and counting of votes would also be done on the same day at 5 p.m. and March 23, 2016 as the date before which election shall be completed.
