Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) expressed dismay over the action of some individuals of the Mao community, saying that the despite maintaining restraint, they were being provoked.
In a press note, SAYO president Tepupal Rote and general secretary Viraseto Neikha said on the advice of Angami Public Organisation (APO) the SAPO and Mao issue over Kezoltsa was handed over to the Tenyimia Public Organization (TPO) on July 4, 2015.
It said, ever since then the “SAYO ban was been kept in abeyance only”. However, SAPO said they were being provoked on various occasions.
During a visit to Kezoltsa, it pointed out that SAYO and SAPO along with members of TPO discovered stolen parts of D50 bulldozer and found salt in the engine of the dozer. This provoked the SAYO, it added.
During the inspection on January 8, 2016, SAYO said that the team also found Mao people constructing road to Kezoltsa. Despite appeal made to them to stop the construction based on TPO letter dated 9th January 2016, they ignored the same, SAYO said.
SAYO also alleged that logs and fire wood which were loaded in the truck (Shaktiman) were stolen and burnt on January 27, 2016.
On January 27, 2016 SAPO alleged that their rest house was also burnt down just a day after the Tenyimia Public Organization and Board of Arbitrators (BoA) passed the resolution to impose penalty of minimum of Rs. 500000 to defaulting parties.
While honouring and having full faith on TPO and maintaining restraint, SAYO however said such action was a direct challenge to them.
In this regard, SAYO has urged TPO & Board of Arbitrators to take appropriate action at the earliest, or it would be compelled to take its own course of action.
