Parliamentary Secretary for Fire Service and Renewable Energy, Toyang Changkong has asked retired/pensioners to work for the welfare of the society saying retirement was a beginning of a new chapter in life.
He was speaking as the chief guest at Nagaland Pensioner’s Association Tuensang Unit silver jubilee on March 1 at CKS Hall Tuensang.
The parliamentary secretary also encouraged them to work for their community and Nagas as a whole saying the younger generation needs the wisdom of experienced people.
Asserting that pensioners should take it as a time to work for the society, he said it was also a time to take up new responsibilities for the people.
Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang, Alem Jongshi, who was the guest of honour, reminded that pensioners should be thankful to God for their old age and maintain a positive attitude to be a guiding force for the youngsters.
He said that pensioners are those Government servants who had discharged their services judiciously and expressed his happiness over the attainment of 25 years and reminded the pensioners to keep growing in life.
President CKS Tuensang, Nokshang Chang delivered a short speech on the background and significance of the Pensioner’s Association.
He also encouraged the pensioners that they are the blessed people, who are useful in any society and exhorted them to be united and serve the people.
