NVBDCP continues to distribute LLIN across Nagaland

National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) department under the aegis of government of India has been distributing Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLIN) free of cost so as to prevent malaria infection.
In continuation of the project, LLIN was also distributed by Viola Colony Council (VCC) Wednesday, to all households in the colony at colony community hall. Altogether 30 bulks which include 40 packages were received from the Malaria department on March 2.  Dos and Don’ts were also explained by Urban Malaria Scheme (UMS) surveillance field worker T.S. New Riphyim Green village: NVBDCP team led by DVBO, Zubeni Kikon distributed LLIN to the New Riphyim Green villagers on February 26. The Dos and Don’ts of the nets were issued to the villagers, and the aims and objectives of schemes taken up by the department were highlighted.
A collective team of NLM, Delhi led by Partosh, project director, Thungdeno Mozhui, DRDA, and BDO RD Block Wokha, Thungbeni Ngullie visited the village to verify whether the centrally sponsored schemes were utilized genuinely, and encourage the beneficiaries to obtain the schemes of the central government which are especially for the rural people.
MOKOKCHUNG:  Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) was officially launched in Mokokchung on March 1 at the urban sub centre at Aongza ward.
ADC, Bendanglila encouraged the ASHAs and other workers to work hard for the successful distribution of the LLINs, and also mentioned that the beneficiaries should use the LLINs strictly according to the instructions provided.  Delivering the key note address Dr. S. Marina Yaden, DVBO (NVBDCP) Mokokchung spoke on the proper usage of the LLINs, its importance and advantages in preventing and control of mosquitoes borne diseases. She informed on the formation of a committee to enable the ASHA in proper distribution of the LLINs free of cost.
ZUNHEBOTO: Formal launching programme of LLIN was held at CMO office premises, on March 1 at Zunheboto.
Chief Guest, SDO (C), Zunheboto, Shanavas (IAS), encouraged active participation of the public in controlling mosquito borne diseases, and also gave away the first LLIN to beneficiary.
Joint director (RCH), DH&FW, Kohima, Dr.Bendangla highlighted on   the proper use of LLINs, and encouraged active community participation for control and prevention of malaria.
In the first phase of LLIN distribution 69 villages were covered and around 39,000 nets were distributed. IEC materials were also distributed.
