RD and Horti officials visit proposed convergence project under MGNREGA

A team of officials from District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Dimapur along with officials of District Horticulture Office (DHO), Dimapur Monday visited the proposed lemon plantation project site to be taken up under MGNREGA in convergence with the department of horticulture, at Pukhato village under RD Block Kuhuboto.
The team comprised of project director DRDA, Alemla Chishi, district horticulture officer, Jerry Patton, horticulture officer, Temsu Longkumer, assistant horticulture officer, Aoimrong Aier, APC DRDA, Imkong Phom and JE Kuhuboto, K. Alem Jamir. 
Talking with the beneficiaries, Alemla informed the villagers to be sincere and extend cooperation towards the two departments for successful implementation of the project which would directly benefit the villagers. 
Project director also said the success of the project would set good example for other districts to follow.
She said funding of the project would be done under MGNREGA while Horticulture department would train the villagers and support the villagers technically.
Also speaking on the occasion, Jerry Patton stressed on the maintenance and preservation of the project. He informed the villagers that plantation of lemon would inter-cropped with banana, through which villager could get maximum benefit.
