One-day Neighbourhood Youth Parliament was organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Chiephobozou block in collaboration with Earth Friendly Charitable Trust, Chiephobozou, on the topic, “environmental conservation” on January 15. The resource person was deputy ranger, Kohima Forest Division, Neitsolie Sanchu.
Sanchu mainly stressed on how “our” environment has been affected by various human activities which leads to climate change.
He also focused on ozone depletion, the need for solid management, resource management, discouraging forest fire and energy conservation, he added. Sanchu urged the youth to start conserving “our” environment for the future generation.
The programme was chaired by Viketouzo Victor, while invocation was delivered by Catechist of St. Dominic Savio Church, Duoneilie Daniel. Vizosu Kikhi gave the welcome speech. A special number was given by Akha Richa.
Altogether 65 participants from different youth clubs and special invitees attended the programme. The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by NYK volunteer, Keduolhoukho Chadi.
