YUD expresses displeasure over threat on its leader

Taking strong exception against the “fresh threat” meted out to PFPSD president Kiusumew allegedly by SVC head GB, Shulimkiu and Khiungchumong and Thangpong both from KAGBU, the Yimchungru Union Dimapur (YUD) warned that in the event of occurrence of any unfortunate incident against their leader or to any genuine member(s) under Pungro sub-division, the three individuals would be held accountable.
In a press release, YUD president, S. Keoshu and executive chairman, S. Kamba claimed that whatever statement expressed by Kiusumew Yimchungru was done on behalf of the organization.
YUD also claimed that the decision of the state cabinet to disallow the YAA Golden Jubilee at Shamator town has encouraged “handful of people from the Tikhir sub dialect to plunged deep into the unknown depth only to create the law and order problem within the Yimchungrus kitchen”.
YUD said government should not have erased the truth merely on the ground of purported threat likely to be caused by a handful of Yimchungrus from Tikhir sub-dialect.
Since, Yimchungru was a conglomeration of six home dialects including Tikhir, Makury, Phununger, Chirr, Longfur and Langa, there was no “particular/individual ownership over the Yimchungru tribe”, YUD stated.
They reiterated that Shamator town was the headquarter of the Yimchungru tribe and over the years, hosted major programmes and functions of several organisations including ENPO, NBCC, ENGOA, YGOA, YTC,YAA and YBBA for as many as 31 times.
Therefore, YUD said disallowing the YAA Golden Jubilee at Shamator Town at the spur of the moment was “synonymous” to disallowing the celebration of “Republic Day/Independence Day of India at New Delhi”.
In this regard, YUD urged upon the state cabinet to allow YAA to celebrate its Golden Jubilee at Shamator rescheduled from January 14 to 17, in the interest of fair sense of justice and for maintaining public peace and tranquillity.
Further, the union cautioned that in the event of any unfortunate incident(s) that might affect the innocent public, leaders and the students’ community, the blame will solely rest on the adamant decision of the state cabinet and that the state government should be prepared to answer befittingly.
