Along with the rest of the country, District Transport Office, Motor Vehicles (DTO, MV) department, Dimapur observed the 29th National Road Safety Week 2018 from April 23 to 30.
As part of its campaign, DTO, MV department organised a motorcycle rally on road safety awareness in collaboration with Nagaland Motorcycle Club (NMC) on April 27 in Dimapur. The rally was flagged off by ADC Dimapur, Sarah Jamir, from clock tower Dimapur which culminated at DTO office Chumukedima. Around 20 bikers participated in the rally.
Speaking to Nagaland Post, DTO Dimapur, Lovikali Yepthomi, who is also the member secretary of district road safety committee Dimapur said that, it was organised to sensitize people about the importance of road safety. She also said that, if more stakeholders could come forward, the occurrences of accidents could be averted and minimized.
DTO, in collaboration with Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dimapur also organised a “Free Eye Camp” at its office on April 26.
