Four-day VK Range Student’s Union (VKRSU) 40th “Baghi Hoho” (general conference) got underway Wednesday at Maromi Village local ground, Zunheboto.
Minister for Rural Development and REPA, C.L. John who was supposed declare conference open as chief guest was represented by Amento S Chishi as the former could not attend due to health problem.
Chishi who hosted the conference flag and declared the conference open also expressed concern over Sitimi/Simgti issue and urged all the students and right thinking citizens to hope for early amicable solution.
The inaugural programme was chaired by Anoka, invocation by Pastor Kitovi Assumi and presidential and keynote address by VKRSU president Himahito Labo.
Earlier on January 5 evening an introductory session was held with Er. Kiyeto Shohe (JE electrical) as the guest speaker who dwelt on the topic, “re-evaluation of educational progress and development”.
He deliberated on education as an ambassador of peace development progress, gaining quality education through determination and will power, various duties and tasks for an educated person to perform in various walks of life and Education for sustainable growth and development.
He concluded saying VK Area has rich resources which if explored positively could create jobs for many.
Other highlights of the general conference are competitions on literacy, cultural, quiz, sports and other events.
