General meeting cum reorganization of Peren council under the theme “Strength in unity” was held on December 28 at Old Peren village and has unanimously elected new office bearers for tenure of 2015-2018.
A press release by Peren Village Council (PVC) chairman Haisobi Hega and sessional secretary Haigurang Sephe stated that Peren council is the apex body of the entire Peren community residing in recognized/unrecognized villages that are established within the jurisdiction of Peren land including Peren people residing elsewhere. The new office bearers are president Gumchubeu Hegui, vice president Hairagum Hega, secretary Dr. Ndangkie Ndang, joint secretary Namrachang Hegui, treasurer Dr. Zieleigai Ndang, ex-officio members chairman Peren village Haisobe Hega, chairman New Peren village Namnabi Hegui and chairman Kezanglwa village Hiareuzinbe Hegui.
The advisory board consists of Amang Sephe, ex-MLA Kielu Ndang, Sibeule Hegui, former speaker NLA Neiba Ndang, IGP P. F. Zeliang IPS, Hiakie Hegui, Asiakpe Ernest Sephe and SP (Retd) Iherie Ndang.
