Dr. Neiphrezo encourages students to preserve culture

MLA and chairman NSDMC, Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu has asked students to preserve “our” culture” and good traditional values passed down by the ancestors. 
He said this while speaking as chief guest at the inaugural programme of the two days golden jubilee celebration of Nerhema Students’ Union (NSU) held under the theme “transcendence” at conference hall Tezhuzie Nerhema, Wednesday.
Highlighting the importance of blessings and wisdom of the older generation, Dr. Neiphrezo urged the students to preserve carry on the rich culture and traditions thus maintaining one’s identity. 
While appreciating the support of parents rendered to their children, Dr. Neiphrezo urged parents to put more effort in guiding their children to preserve own culture.
He also asked the students to be farsighted, focused, determined and hardworking to reach their goal. The MLA also extended government and individual support for students who had the zeal and focus to achieve their ambition.
Dr. Neiphrezo lauded and thanked the pioneers and executives of Nerhema Students’ Union for reaching the golden jubilee milestone and urged to work ahead with wisdom, unity and understanding through collective effort. 
Earlier, the chief guest unveiled jubilee monolith, unfurled Nerhema Students’ Union flag and released jubilee memoirs.
Delivering greetings, chairman Nerhema village council, Zakieneisa Kiewhuo hoped that positivity and reconciliation would emerge out of the golden jubilee celebration. He also urged the students to excel in their studies.
Angami Students’ Union president, Dievi Yano said that maturity of NSU was not just the success of the Nerhema village but also that of Angami community.
While thanking the village for giving leaders and contributors to the Angami community, Yano hoped that with the completion of fifty years, the village would produce more leaders who could contribute and change the society. 
The gathering was enthralled through performances by NSU jubilee choir and Ame- ü üsou zao.
Welcome address was delivered by convener steering committee, Neiphrezolie Kiewhuo and acknowledgement by convener finance committee, Duosielie Chadi.
The programme was chaired by president NSU, Selabeituo Theünuo while Reverend Zotuo Kiewhuo pronounced the invocation.  
The programme was followed by valedictory session, where additional deputy commissioner, Lithrongla T Rutsa was the jubilee theme speaker.
