ENPO: Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) has expressed deep shock at the untimely demise of late I. Shokum Yimchunger (Retd.) assistant to chairman, Cease Fire Monitoring Group (CSMG) who passed away on December 28 at his private residence, 5th Mile Model village Diphupar.
In a condolence message, ENPO has expressed deep sadness to have lost a sincere and dedicated leader, whose untimely death has created a great loss for the people of ENPO in particular and the Nagas in general. Further, ENPO has extended its deep condolences to the bereaved family members and pray for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
YTC: Yimchungru Tribal council (YTC) has mourned the demise of late L. Shokum Yimchungru of Longtokru village. In a condolence message, the council described late Shokhum as popular and respectable person, brave and distinguished individual.
The council said late Shokum was one of the founding members of Naga Nationalist Movement and also served in various capacities such as assistant to chairman CSMG and Eastern Nagaland People’s Union Diphupar advisor and a retired deputy SP.
YTC has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
LUTT: Longtoker Union Tuensang Town (LUTT) has mourned the untimely sudden demise of late I. Shokum Yimchungrü (Retd.DSP), assistant to CSMG.
In a condolence message, LUTT described late Shokum as a visionary leader who was a responsible person, who had immensely contributed towards the upliftment of the society in various fields and capacities.
The union stated that late Shokhum worked tirelessly for the various Naga political groups and Nagas for a common platform and for the betterment of the society at large.
LUTT said his death is a great loss to the people of Yimchungrüs and Nagas and that his demise has created vacuum in the society which would be difficult to fill.
Further, the union has prayed to the Almighty God to give solace to the bereaved family in this hour of grief and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
NPF 54 A/C: NPF 54 A/C has expressed pain at the sudden demise of retired deputy commandant 3rd NAP, Tuensang and assistant to CSMG late I. Shokum Yimchungrü.
In a condolence message, NPF 54 A/C described late Shokum as a sincere, dedicated and generous person who was liked and loved by the common people for his endeavor in various capacities for the uplift of the grass root people. NPF 54 A/C expressed regret that his untimely demise has deprived the Eastern Nagas and Nagas in general.

DLH: Dimapur Lotha Hoho (DLH) has expressed great shock and sorrow at the sudden passing away of retired director Abemo Ovung on December 28 at Kolkata.
In a condolence message, DLH said late Abemo’s contribution to the Lotha community of Dimapur in particular was multidimensional and that it would be cherished and remembered by the people.
DLH stated that his untimely demise was a great loss to the Lotha community, as it has lost an invaluable source of guidance, strength and courage.

PVSU: Pongidong Village Students Union (PVSU) has expressed shock and pain at the untimely demise of retired director late Abemo Ovung.
In a condolence message, the union said late Ovung was the first graduate from Pongidong in 1968 with distinction from U.C.C. Barapani, Shillong Meghalaya who also served PVSU as the general secretary from 1961-62.

WSSU: Western Sumi Students Union (WSSU) has mourned the untimely demise of late head GB Kughato village and president Western Sumi Youth Front late Kakiye Zhimo. The union described him as a staunch social worker and a person who was against all social evils. WSSU said late Zhimo’s contribution towards the society would never go in vain and will be remembered.

CMA: Chakhesang Mother’s Association (CMA) has expressed pain over the tragic incident that took place on December 23 where four people were killed and several others seriously injured.
CMA stated that 21 people from Ketsapo village while travelling to Phek town for Christmas shopping met with an unfortunate accident where four died and left many in critical condition.
Further, CMA has conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and also wished speedy recovery to the injured persons.
Y. Patton: State home minister Y. Patton has expressed pain at the untimely demise of late Abemo Ovung of Pongidong village on December 28 at Kolkata.
In a condolence message, Patton described late Abemo Ovung as having been actively involved in religious works and known for his generosity, besides being one of the prominent figures among the Lotha community.
In his untimely death, Patton said “we” have lost a great religious worker and sincere and honest citizen in Lotha community adding hat the void created by his death would be difficult to fill.

Jacob Zhimomi: Parliamentary secretary for Irrigation and Flood Control, I. Jacob Zhimomi has expressed deep shock at the untimely demise of late K. Kakiye Zhimomi, head GB of Kughato village and president of Western Sumi Youth Front on December 27 last at Kuhuboto town.
In a condolence message, Jacob described late Kakiye as upright and selfless village headman and public leader who was the voice of the people at the grass root level.
Jacob said Sumis in general and people of Kuhuboto area in particular have lost a daring and bold leader, who was always reckoned with his leadership qualities adding that huge void created by his death would be hard to fill.
