NPCC ‘mass contact tour’ teams address in Mkg, Zbto

NPCC team on Mass Contact Tour for “Change” Thursday addressed public meetings at Mokokchung and Zunheboto towns.
According to NPCC media cell during the programme, NPCC president K. Therie clarified that current tour was not a campaign but a tour to connect with public to build a future with “change” from the current problems.
Referring to the Art 371, Therie said that Nagas have been given special status whereby nobody except the elected members of NLA could make policies for the Nagas. He said, “I am pained to part with the MLAs, but the NPCC cannot compromise on its principles and ideologies”.
Adding that the split within the NPF has reached a point of no return, he said the next election would be fought between “communalism and secularism”, money power and ethnic values and that the time has come for Nagas to be honest and exhibit Christianity as “we” all profess.
Therie also called attention to the visible damage being done to the environment through the practice of burning jungles for jhum cultivation in the state.
He said that mitigation could be facilitated by the efficient delivery of the various schemes under Civil Supplies which are all being manipulated.
NPCC president also highlighted various aspects of the NPCC roadmap and called on the people to join hands with the party to bring about much needed “Change”.
Taking a dig on Prime Minister, Narendar Modi, Therie claimed that Modi still thinks as a chief minister of Gujurat and not the prime minister of 29 states and 7 union territories, as he could not think beyond Gujurat state.
He also alleged that BJP has appointed RSS agents for every project in the central ministries and therefore the BJP government would not help any Christian state.
Therie also thanked the people for their great hospitality and the public meetings were conducted successfully beyond expectations, stated NPCC Media Cell.
Others who addressed the public meetings included NPCC officials, general secretary Dokiu Kecham, secretary Alemba Chang; secretary Moa Imchen and secretary Athang Chongloi.
