Assam Rifles IG visits integration camp

Inspector General, Assam Rifles, Maj. Gen. MS Jaswal visited the Special National Integration Camp on the sixth day at Patkai Christian College, Chumukedima, Thursday.
Around 600 cadets of National Cadets Corps from 17 directorates from all the corners of the country and around 100 cadets from the North East Region are participating in the camp.
Maj Gen MS Jaswal in his speech to the NCC emphasised on leading a good and disciplined life to become a responsible citizens of the country.
The inspector general also expressed hope that the cultural activities demonstrated by the participants during the event would help peace and harmony grow in the country.
It may be noted that NCC owes its popularity among the youth, primarily due to its Armed Forces ethos, who perceive the Armed Forces as the finest institution of the nation. All training in the NCC is conducted in a military environment, so as to help the cadets inculcate the finer qualities of our military leadership. It helps in inculcating discipline and ability to work hard, giving a sense of purpose and helps to overcome the trials, tribulations and complexities of adolescent years.
