SVC reacts to PFST Nov 7 resolution

Reacting to the statement of Public Forum Shamator Town (PFST) president Y. Tokiu and general secretary K. Akiuba on January 21- “PFST asks bonafide members to return to Shamator town”, Shamator Village Council (SVC) maintained that “without the concern or prior consultation from us, no individual or organization have a right to neither adopt or dictate any kind of order nor have a right to form an organization”.
In a joint statement, SVC chairman T. Khiungjumong and Shamator village head GB Y. Shulimkiu said “to settle at Shamator town or not is a sole responsibility of Shamator villagers because the land belongs to Shamator village”.
As for those families who had vacated the town, SVC said it was their wish, whether or not to return/settle. It said PFST had no authority to adopt any resolution to hold the properties of families who have not returned to Shamator town.
It termed the adoption of the November 7, 2015 resolution as “total nonsense”, based on individual interest. SVC said that such directive could be only issued by the Shamator village.
SVC cautioned that the Shamator village citizens would take necessary action in case of any eventuality that may arise due to PFST.
Meanwhile, SVC said that in the interest of public peace and tranquility in the Shamator neighborhood, the village tolerated with the government’s decision with a deep concern.
SVC said that the land owner of Shamator administrative headquarters- Shamator village- has directed individuals not to form any organization or adopt any resolution without the consent of the village council.
