15 receive JN Aier trust award

Japukong Students’ Conference (JKM) during its 69th general conference at Satsukba, Mokokchung gave away the JN Aier trust award for academic excellence to 15 achievers from amongst its members. The conference was held from January 13-15 with the theme, “Future Vision”.
The awardees received cash award of Rs. 10,000 each and certificates.
According to JKM, around 500 delegates from 12 villages under Japukong range and units from different towns attended the conference.
Main speakers at the conference were- deputy chief veterinary officer, Mokokchung, Dr. Sunep Imchen and advocate Supu Jamir.    
Mr & Miss Japukong were also conducted during the conference, where Nungsangtemsu (Yajang ‘A’) and Imcharenla Jamir (Changdang) were declared as Mr Japukong and Miss Japukong respectively.
Executive engineer, irrigation & flood control, Mokokchung, Er. J Lanu Longchar inaugurated the games & sports cum cultural events while the Director, Soil & Water Conservation, Kohima, T Imkongmar Aier was the special guest at the valedictory function.
On the concluding day of the conference, JKM had also adopted a five-point resolution to foster better future of the Japukong Students’ community.
It resolved to restart the triennial JKM general conference from Yajang ‘C’ and then to next village on rotation basis. J.N Aier Trust Award for Academic Excellence would continue till the Platinum Jubilee celebration, scheduled to be held at Yajang ‘A’ in 2025.
JKM also resolved to set up a Planning Committee for the JKM Platinum Jubilee celebration, and the task has been entrusted to the new team of office bearers. 
Keeping in mind the importance of information technology in the modern world, the JKM resolved to create and launch an official website at the earliest. Besides, it resolved to open groups and pages in different social networking sites for the JKM members, so that members could keep in touch and share views and opinions among them.
JKM has also decided to set up a corpus fund committee, and the first seed money would be contributed by each village unit and well-wishers.
Meanwhile, a new team of office-bearers was also nominated and accepted by the delegates. The new team is headed by Rongsenmongba Aier, who retained the post of president and Wapang as general secretary.
