Deputy District Education Officer Dimapur, R.Amongla Jamir inaugurated the new school building of Government Middle School (GMS) Toluvi village on January 16. The inaugural programme was organized by Toluvi village council.
At the inaugural programme, R.Amongla lauded the village education committee, supported by the village authority, for judiciously utilizing the fund provided by the department for creating educational infrastructure in the village. Asserting that constructing new school buildings alone was not the end of road, she said village education committee along with the teaching faculty should put in more effort, improve the standard of education in the school thereby producing better results.
She also urged the education committee and the school staff to try to enhance the enrolment of students in the school. Speaking on behalf of the village authority, TVC Chairman Vikugha Assumi, said that apart from fund received from the government, the village authority had also contributed additional fund from its own towards developing facilities in the school premises.
He urged the department to provide more funds for development of the school. Earlier, the programme was chaired by graduate teacher Atoli H. Sumi while Toluvi Baptist Church, associate pastor Lhovili Chishi.
