Tokheho Yepthomi graces YAA golden jubilee celebration

Yimchungrü Akherü Arih-ako (YAA) golden jubilee celebration was graced by minister for PHED, Tokheho Yepthomi as chief guest at Shamator town, Tuesday.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Tokheho acknowledged and saluted Yimchungrü Akherü Arih-ako  who he said had the vision and wisdom to form the organisation for benefit of Yimchungrü students in particular and Nagas in general.
Tokheho said over the years the organization has done a lot of good works for the Yimchungrü people in particular and the Nagas in general. 
As Yimchungrü Akherü Arih-ako  celebrates 50 years, Tokheho urged the present generation to ponder and decide how to take the organization forward to a greater height which has been build on the sweat and toils of the pioneers. 
He said that the jubilee was being celebrated because of tireless service and sacrifice of the pioneers and pointed out that Yimchungrü Akherü Arih-ako  was not a young organisation but has matured over half a century. 
Stating that an organisation celebrating 50 years is a “long time” when compared to only 52 years of statehood, he said in the process there has been generation of changes with new perspective and attitude towards life.
He also exhorted the gathering on the theme “Honoring our past, charting our future” and unveiled the jubilee souvenir.
Tokheho also congratulated Yimchungrü Akherü Arih-ako  for organizing the jubilee celebration and hoped that the jubilee would usher in a bright future for the present generation and continue to guide the tribe in future.
Parliamentary secretary, horticulture, DB & GB, Kejong Chang and president Yimchunger Tribal Council (YTC), Keozih also spoke at the programme.
The inaugural programme was presided over by Khalenmew and Easter while invocation was pronounced by women secretary Yimchungru Baptist Boru Amukhongto (YBBA) Dr. Toshila.
Welcome address was delivered by President Yimchungrü Akherü Arih-ako , Akiuba T.S, special numbers were also presented by M. Shophu and jubilee choir,   vote of thanks was proposed by assembly secretary Yimchungrü Akherü Arih-ako  Sonol while benediction was pronounced by Yimchungru Baptist Boru Amukhongto (YBBA) secretary Rev. Hankiu Joshua Mission.
