NGO Forum Nagaland launched

Government registered NGOs have launched a new forum in Nagaland christened as “NGOs Forum Nagaland”.  The Forum was launched at the first general meeting for the government registered NGOs in NEISSR conference hall on May 25. 
Keeping in mind to strengthen the member skills in mobilizing support for an issue, a useful skill when advocating with opinion leaders, policy makers and the public, the NGO Forum has been formed, said a statement issued by the Forum. 
It was also the long felt need to formulate an NGO Forum in Nagaland for the government registered NGOs between different Non-Governmental Organizations working in different developmental sectors in Nagaland.
The Forum came into being after numerous consultative meeting held with the initiative of NGO Forum interim body, and with the consent of number of government registered NGOs. The Forum was formed with a guideline to support the Organization’s vision, mission and values. It will also provide a community platform for NGOs in their diverse domain, active in any part of Nagaland and to contribute to governance and development process in Nagaland.
The forum is headed by Dr.Hesheto Chishi, Director, Indigenous Cultural Society as chairman, Rhuletsu, IBAPWO,Kiphire as vice chairperson along with six others executive members.
