Measles outbreak reported in Dmu

Following reports of measles outbreak in various parts of the state, Dimapur district heath authorities on Wednesday informed that few measles cases have also been reported in Dimapur.
In a press note, Dimapur district Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi said few cases of measles have been brought to the notice of the district health authorities.
In this regard, CMO has asked the local authorities, GBs, council chairmen etc. to immediately inform the district health authorities if there are any persons down with high fever accompanied by rashes in their respective localities without delay.
It may be noted that measles outbreak was first reported in Zunheboto district and in some other parts of the State.
According to a data provided by Zunheboto DPO (RCH and UIP) Dr Alemwabang Aier, 50 measles cases had been reported from Aghunato town, Shevishe and Lukikhe as on May 28. 
Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) department has sent blood, urine and throat swab samples collected from patients to New Delhi for laboratory tests.
