Mbaupunggwa Village Council (MVC) has strongly opposed the move to change the location of a 4 crore project “Cardamom Cultivation at Mbaupunggwa under Peren District”. In a letter to the director of Horticulture, MVC chairman, Ramkia and head GB, Hangbu said that the move was politically motivated “and not based on climatic feasibility or viability.” The council requested the director to not entertain any such directions “initiated with the sole purpose of disturbing the peaceful co-existence of villagers on flimsy grounds.”
