NPF fetes Tokheho

NPF Legislature Party has congratulated NDDP candidate Tokheho Yepthomi for winning the Lok Sabha by-election and hoped that he will fulfil the expectations of the electorate who supported him,
In a meeting held at the residence of its leader TR Zeliang here on Thursday, the legislature party also conveyed its profound gratitude to the electorate for extending their support and voting in favour of NPF candidate C Apok Jamir during the by-poll held on May 28.
The party also asserted that genuine voters in the State, though lesser in number, had voted for the NPF candidate despite “unprecedented proxy-voting and booth-capturing” by the PDA that rocketed overall voting percentage despite low voters turnout. It also appreciated all rank and file of NPF for selfless service and sacrifice rendered towards successful conduct of the by-election in the State.
Meanwhile, in a resolution, the legislature party reiterated that final settlement of the Indo-Naga political issue will continue to be its top-most priority and the same will be manifest and pursued by NPF with utmost sincerity and commitment until the issue is brought to its logical conclusion.
While condemning in the strongest term chief minister Neiphiu Rio’s assertion that NPF was divided into three groups, the legislature party by another resolution also reiterated and declared that the party remains united under the “dynamic leadership” of its president Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu and Zeliang.
