Dmu forest division observes WED

Along with the Nation getting ready to host this years’ World Environment Day (WED) 2018 at the International level, Dimapur forest division observed the Day under the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution” at Forest Colony Dimapur along with students and faculty of Little Star Higher Secondary School (LSHSS), Dimapur.
Cash awards and certificates were awarded to the students for essay writing and painting competitions which were held earlier.
DFO Dimapur K. Ihevi Aomi, in his key note address stressed on the theme and encouraged the young minds to play important roles for a better environment. Short speeches were delivered by assistant teacher Pampi, and Wapangsenla, student of LSHSS. 
Earlier, the foreword was delivered by Bokato Sema and later vote of thanks by forest range officers Vivika Sema. 
 The programme was followed by launching of the Central Nursery Dimapur by the DFO which has a capacity of raising 1,50,000 saplings. The programme also saw a ceremonial planting session along with distribution of saplings. 
The programme was chaired by forest range officer, Dzuthovito Lcho.
