DMC completes 11th road renovation works

In continuation with the road-repair works in and around Dimapur, the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has completed renovation and repairing of eleven roads in 2015.
On Saturday, the 11th road (black topped-2667.5 sqm) at Police Colony ward no. 5, was inaugurated by chairman NIDC and MLA H. Tovihoto Aye.
On the occasion, Tovihoto described the development activities initiated by DMC as a “bid achievement” accomplished during the 12-month period. He said apart from road renovations works, many activities undertaken by DMC have been witnessed by the people and needed to be appreciated.
All the developmental activities could be accomplished after state chief minister, T.R. Zeliang intervened and allotted toll taxes collection to DMC, said Tovihoto.
He said NPF government was committed for the development of the state, and would continue to work for the welfare of the people.
Earlier, NPF government was criticized for carrying out inaugurations of various projects, but the inaugurations was the result of tremendous development initiated by the government, added Tovihoto.
He further appealed to the people to maintain and preserve the roads and other infrastructures handed over to them by the government.
DMC Administrator, H. Atokhe Aye highlighted the activities initiated by the DMC during the 12-month period. He acknowledged the support and cooperation of public and Dimapur based various civil societies. Atokhe also said developmental activities were undertaken with the blessing of the state government.
He also assured that the DMC would undertake various other developmental works with the support of the government and the people.
